Michael Williams, vice president and head of Retail Products for Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS), was promoted to senior vice president and head of Operations, FRFS. His promotion was effective November 16.
In his new role, Williams will oversee all functions that drive payment business line operations. This includes supporting the daily online and offline processes for Check, FedACH, Fedwire Funds, Fedwire Securities, FedNow, and the National Settlement Service.
Williams began his career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 2002. He held positions of increasing responsibility in check automation services before joining the Atlanta Fed's Check 21 Business Operations Office in 2007. He was promoted to operations director in the Retail Payments Office in 2011, followed by assistant vice president in 2014. He was promoted to his most recent role in 2020. Williams holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Park University in Missouri.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
